Hudson’s Camino Bio

As curious parents, we asked Hudson a few questions about his Camino adventures.  Here’s what he shared with us:

Where and what day did you start the Camino? September 19, 2017 in St. Jean Pied-de-Port in France.

Why are you doing the Camino? To support Mom and spend time with Dad as a family.

What’s your favorite part of the Camino? Meeting people, playing games and hanging out with Mom and Dad.  I also like eating Manchitos (cheesy puffs).

What’s the hardest part? Sometimes in the afternoon I get tired.  I start throwing stuff off my stroller.  My parents call it “stroller rage” or “midday meltdown”.  Usually, mom picks me up and carries me when this happens.  Then I take my mid-day nap.

Tell me about some of the gifts you received.  Every day I get something new.  This morning, I got a shot of freshly squeezed OJ.  Yesterday, I got a stack of cookies and two hard candies.  The day before, two chocolates and a banana.   Mmmmm….

What’s your day job? Being an infant, smiling a lot and having fun.

What are your hobbies? Kicking, swimming, playing, eating anything I can get my hands on, drinking milk, and going on adventures.

Family? Son to Mom and Dad. Grandson to Grandma Holly and Grandma Lila. Great grandson to Great-great grandfather Pop. Cousin to a lot of cool people.

A piece of obscure/interesting trivia about yourself? I took a road trip across the U.S in 2016 when dad completed the 3,000 mile, 12-day solo Race Across America, the “World’s Toughest Cycling Race”. I was also on Dad’s support crew for Badwater 146, known as the “World’s Toughest Foot Race”, when we went from Badwater Basin in Death Valley to Mt. Whitney. I can’t wait for what adventure comes next.

What’s your favorite food? My favorite food used to be avocado, but this has recently changed to spaghetti. I eat spaghetti every day.  It tastes good.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world that you haven’t already been, where would it be? Santiago de Compostela, to support Mom on her big adventure.

Where’s your favorite place that you’ve been?  Fortuna, CA and Port Angeles, WA to visit my grandmas.

If you could travel back in time to witness any event in history, what/where would it be?  My parent’s wedding. I hear they were very happy.

If you could meet any person (dead or alive), who would it be? I would want to meet my grandpas that aren’t around anymore: Grandpa Dave and Grandpa Clay.

If you were stuck on a deserted island and could only listen to one song, what would it be?   Amazing Grace.

If you could have one super hero power, what would it be?  To be Woody and Buzz Lightyear’s trusty sidekick.

Favorite book?  The Little Blue Truck.

Favorite movie/TV show? Whatever Dad watches with me, but I rarely get screen time.

Favorite musician/band?  My parents singing to me before bed. It makes me smile.

Favorite sports team? Seattle Seahawks (football) and San Francisco Giants (baseball).

Do you have a nick name?  How’d you get it?  Milky. My parents gave it to me because I like milk.

What do you most want people to remember about you?  That I love my family, adventures and the fun people I meet along the way.

What’s next for you? For now, visiting the grandmas over the holidays.  In 2018, probably another big adventure.  My parents are crazy.
